I’ve been playing around with houses in relation to one another. Each house is the building block for the house that follows it. Don’t get me wrong – this will not make sense for any particular reading. This is for learning purposes. I think it’s a fun exercise for people studying astrology to rack their brains for different ways the houses are connected. The zodiac and the houses tell a story, and it is this story that can help us learn.
Some quick examples:
5th house is 2nd from the 4th. You have a strong emotional foundation, you create, you express that emotional field.
The 10th is 2nd from the 9th. Life direction gained from belief and knowledge.
The 9th is 2nd from the 8th. Knowledge gained from pain or from sharing with others.
11th is 2nd from the 10th. Gains from reputation, career. Monetary gains from career. Social sphere gained from career, reputation, from life path. Having humanitarian goals comes from having a firm place in the world and feeling secure in that, then wanting to spread the structuring.
4th is 2nd from 3rd. This shit gets crazy! Having thoughts and learning builds emotional foundation, builds history. Learning and speaking builds history. Language builds roots, builds family. Feeling connected, safe. Knowledge is power, right?
6th is 2nd from 5th. Self-expression gains a daily routine, habit, work, day-to-day structure, helping others, starting to think about society as a whole now that the self has been fully expressed.
Now, here’s one that can keep me busy for hours:
If the 1st house is 2nd from the 12th, then the 1st house holds the gains of the 12th. A spiritual being exists and does its thing, and the reward is a body, a world-view. We begin in the unconscious before we become form, as does everything. It reminds me that we are spiritual beings having a human experience.
Each house holds the gains from the previous house. Starting from the 1st, the story of the zodiac evolves from one archetype to the next and the houses show the natural progression of existence. See what I mean? Good way to think about it and build those mental/emotional/visceral connections for perspective as you learn the houses.
