Now that I know a little more about what’s going on, these are my thoughts about what could happen for the remainder of 2020 in America when Mars enters Aries.
Mars in Pisces
Mars is in Pisces now. While Pisces is not a super “uppity” sign, Mars is still Mars no matter which sign it’s traveling through. Pisces can definitely fight for what it believes in but it’s typically a more passive sign. Pisces prefers to cloak itself, flying under the radar, moving the pieces on the board when no one else is looking. Pisces is a bit psychic, too, feeling things out. Pisces will often move things before others realize there’s even a connection. People who have Mars in Pisces should learn how to communicate with their intuition as much as possible because that is what they take action on.
Mars will always be Mars, however, some signs strip Mars of some classic inclinations. Like, Mars in Libra. Mars in Libra really doesn’t want to be Mars. It certainly can be! But it would rather avoid anything explosive or confrontative. So, I always wrote Mars in Pisces off as a little aimless but I am starting to realize that it could be supremely powerful when properly harnessed.
Think about it: Mars is very strong in Scorpio. Scorpio is a water sign. Water itself, although very giving, can crush nearly anything on Earth. Water becomes whatever contains it. Mars in Cancer, although not the easiest to control, can certainly show brute force at times. And Cancer is a super-creator, like a womb for Source energy. Mars in Cancer can make things happen.
So, perhaps Mars in Pisces is actually way more potent than people think. At least, I am looking at it in an entirely new way.
Mars in Pisces vs Mars in Aries
Even still, Mars in Pisces is not Mars in Aries. While Pisces moves in the background, Aries is very front and center. Mars in Aries is explosive, and it is when Mars enters Aries on June 28, 2020 that I believe shit is going to hit the fan, particularly in the United States.
At the time of this writing, while Mars has been in Pisces, massive social unrest in the US has unfolded and it continues. Mars applying in conjunction with Neptune in Pisces sadly created several “martyr” figures (the grotesque murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, Rayshard Brooks, and many more) sparking a movement across the country, and even the world. Did I mention that Mars is not even in Aries yet? Ok.
Here’s a rundown of what we’ve got with Mars in Pisces:
Protests against racial injustice, police brutality, and crushing inequality have been in full swing. Coronavirus is still spreading and America’s caseload is rising faster every day. There is mass unemployment, greater than any other time in recent history. Activists have taken over certain parts of the country, claiming autonomous zones (three people were shot this past weekend). The cultural divide is breathtaking. Fox News is going absolutely bonkers. The Trump administration is spouting tough “law and order” talk and the corruption is as rampant as ever. There’s a lot more I’m failing to mention.
So, while Pisces is not much of a rambunctious sign where Mars really shines, Aries is. That’s next.
It’s not only next, but it is for the remainder of the year, until January 6th-7th, 2021.
A Spark
Mars enters Aries late June 27th or June 28th in the early morning hours. That’s less than three days from now.
Multiple people in my life, none who regularly talk to one another, have recently mentioned that all we need in America is a spark and then there’s going to be an explosion. The division is at a critical level and it’s not just Republicans versus Democrats. It’s the people versus power. It’s the past versus the future. Love versus fear, right versus wrong. In America, it’s who belongs and who doesn’t. Us vs them. Rich vs poor. The Have’s vs the Have-Not’s. It could even be science versus belief.
The point is, we have not been this divided in a long time. Everything is so polarized. If you’re not with us, you’re against us. It’s unsustainable and all we need is a spark to set everything off.
Aries is a spark. That is how I think of Aries energy – the spark of Spirit. The spark that starts the fire, that sets off the zodiac itself. And Mars in that sign is a very large spark. For six months.
In a previous post, I went over some predictions about what might be in store for the world and America for the remainder of 2020. If we look over those potential possibilities and we apply it to current developments, we can form more of a picture for how this can play out in America. You’ll probably want to read the other post first but this story is ever-evolving and I will be posting about it at least once a month because people need to be aware and RISE ABOVE IT ALL.
Seriously, can I get on my soapbox for one paragraph here? If you know that things are already super tense and bound to explode, not only can you plan ahead and strategize, but you can see it all from a larger perspective. You don’t have to get caught up in every emotion. Mars in Pisces found the reasons to cock back the spring-load but that doesn’t mean it needs to go off. Listen to the people around you. Hear them out. If you feel yourself getting heated, take a break. Don’t feed it. Take a step back, regroup, meditate, whatever you need to do to get your perspective back, and then go back out into the world with love. We can come out of this better than before. Focus on what you want for the future and use this energy to make it happen, but also be smart about it. Violence and hate solve nothing.
Violence and hate will destroy itself. Love only needs to hold space for that to happen.
Annular Solar Eclipse June 21st
On June 21st, there was a major Annular Solar Eclipse on the world axis at 0 degrees of Cancer. This signifies change and illuminated knowledge affecting the entire globe. Eclipses are super-charged Full or New Moons. While regular lunations last a couple of weeks on either side, the energetic power of eclipses can last up to 6 months.
It is now June 25th and, although there was a fight between China and India at their borders right under the path of the eclipse, nothing has really “happened” yet. Protests continue in Hong Kong and more have recently erupted in Israel, as people are angry about the potential annexation of the West Bank by the Israeli government.
In the US, the spread of coronavirus has mushroomed once again and there continues to be an onslaught of police brutality and racial injustice, mostly in the shape of videos showing excessive force against people of color, including murder. It seems like every day there is another video or story of a person of color who is murdered or grossly mistreated by the law. Also, crime against people of color has been on the rise. There have been multiple hangings, some thought to be lynchings. Terrifying.
Setting the Stage
People around the world have been on lockdown. They’re thinking more about life. They’re thinking about what’s important. Seeing injustice all around, people have been thinking more about equality and this will continue. People will become more courageous and less afraid to speak out.
So, the stage for a showdown is certainly being set.
When Mars enters Aries, it will square (create tension) the world axis – the same point of the June 21st eclipse. This could very well spark things in motion. Not only will the eclipse degree be triggered days after the actual eclipse, but it will be triggered by Mars in Aries just after the Moon crosses into Libra, opposing it! I always say Mars fires early, when it is applying to an aspect about a degree before exact, so I see June 27th as a hot date indeed (without the sex, maybe).
Remember: 0 degrees of any sign is also a critical degree in astrology, as is the 29th degree. 0 degrees of cardinal signs are extremely potent. I’m watching June 27th and June 28th for something to be triggered. It may not be in America but something major should happen on those days. Because Mars is the activating planet (aside from the Moon), there is likely to be a major expulsion of pent-up energy. This could be quite a massive event.
Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn
The Lunar Eclipse at 13-14 degrees Capricorn is on July 5th. This falls directly opposite America’s 13 degree Cancer Sun. The actual path of the eclipse is over the United States mainland as well. This is major. This is a challenge to the very identity of America. There is a culmination of some sort, a release of all the energy that’s been building up for a while, linking back to July of 2018. It’s highly emotional and it’s likely going to be a major, major event that changes the course of American history forever.
Sounds crazy, right? It is crazy.
The Lunar Eclipse falls in America’s 2nd and 8th houses. That’s the axis of values, resources, finances. Cancer and Capricorn are about security, safety, resources, preparedness, planning for the future, government, and homeland. The week of July 4th-12th is critical.
Eclipses don’t necessarily “happen” on the day they arrive, however. Still, that week is very active.
Mercury in Cancer
Mercury is currently retrograde in Cancer and will be until about July 12th. While in retrograde motion, Mercury will be squared by Mars in Aries from July 7th-10th, with the 7th & 8th being quite potent. These will most certainly be a couple of jarring days. Mercury in Cancer is answering to the Moon and changing its mood every 2.5 days. Plus, it’s retrograde, so it’s not operating with the most clarity. It’s highly tuned in to the emotional plane. Frustrations, agitation, restlessness, sharp tongues, venting, and erratic movement are some things to keep an eye on here.
Then, Mercury turns direct around July 12th. During the last three weeks of July, the Messenger of the Gods will square the God of War. That whole time. Mercury squaring Mars is usually a transit that lasts a few days. But, three weeks? This is because Mercury direct is speeding back up while Mars is starting to slow down, preparing for its own retrograde. Both planets will be moving slower than usual.
Fast vs Slow
When a faster-moving planet slows down and aspects a slower-moving planet, it creates a very powerful effect. Faster-moving planets are referred to as personal planets. Personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus & Mars) are representative of simpler human drives/needs. It’s not that they’re simple or easy, so to speak, but that they are fundamental basic human functions. Once we get beyond Mars, the planets start to represent more complex aspects of the human psyche. Going beyond Saturn takes the complexity up yet another notch.
The Sun and the Moon never retrograde. These two bodies represent two of the most basic and foundational aspects of the human psyche: consciousness and subconsciousness. What would happen if either of them were to retrograde? Would we lose our identities for a time? Would our subconscious minds start to malfunction? What does that even look like? Our egos malfunctioning? It would be devastating and not good for survival. I could go on a tangent about this but our subconscious mind keeps us alive. A retrograde Moon would just unravel us.
Moving on, most people don’t 100% notice when Pluto or Neptune go retrograde. Sure, there are people who might, especially if either are aspecting a personal planet. However, there’s not a ton of disruption to anyone’s ability to function in everyday life. Life goes on.
On the other side, most people are affected in some way by a Mercury retrograde, even if they aren’t conscious of it. Their emails fail to send. Their car finally kicks the bucket. They misplace their phone. Of course, we don’t all feel every Mercury retrograde but you get my point. Ruling one of humanity’s basic functions – communication – the potential for disruption in day-to-day life is greater.
When Venus stationed last month and formed a square to Neptune, it was as though two outer planets were in aspect, except even stronger because Venus is not an outer planet. Venus was at 21 degrees Gemini for nearly two weeks, just stuck there. I felt that shit hard. Yes, it happened to be aspecting my Venus exactly, but I feel every Venus retrograde anyway. We all feel Venus. We all feel Mercury. We all feel Mars.
So, when a fast-moving planet slows down, we feel it. Everything is pronounced, stronger. And, to aspect another faster-moving planet that’s slowing down? It’s just not the most common thing to happen. We will all feel it in some way.
And, we already know that square aspects between the planets create tension. Squares make things happen. There is so much energy that builds up and it has no easy way to express, and so it gets chaotic until the energy is released. Think of shaking up a can of soda. We all know what happens when you open it. That’s a square. The only difference with squares is that we don’t exactly know when the can will be opened. We have a window of time and we can watch the Moon, that’s about it.
Weeks of Mercury Square Mars
Obviously, the planets involved matter in how the square is expressed. So, what do three weeks of Mercury square Mars look like? Let’s break it down.
Mercury is communication, information, the media, people, commerce, transportation, movement of all kinds. Mars is power, aggression, drive, passion, oomph, explosions, weapons, war, etc. Mercury square Mars puts movement and go-power together. Something is on the move in a big, bold way, whether it’s news, people, actual transportation, ideas, commerce, etc. Something is changing hands aggressively or with speed, or with anger or force.
I keep thinking of mobilizing an army. I’m not saying this will happen but it certainly comes to mind. Forces mobilizing. Forces moving. A journalist in a war-zone. A battle of words. A battle of ideas. Fast-moving ideas. Aggressive speech. Abrupt speech. A passionate message. An urgent message. Speech that moves people (literally and figuratively). Bold action meeting defensive speech. News of violence. News of bold action. Taking risks. Emotional news (Mercury in Cancer) calling for swift action (Mars in Aries). Or, flip it: news from the homeland that an accident occurred. Train accident. Pick your vehicle and something suddenly happens to it. Saying something that hurts. Jumping to conclusions. Acting before thinking. Hate crimes. The list could go on but I hope you get the idea. It’s quick, it’s sudden, it’s impatient. It involves movement, passion, communication, and a sense of urgency.
Something happens during this time, in the last three weeks of July, that could set into motion the events that occur when Mars in Aries squares Jupiter, Saturn, & Pluto in Capricorn.
Could it just be the virus spreading uncontrollably? Yes. But, I feel there’s more to the story.
Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Pluto, Saturn
At the very end of July, we come to the final days of Mercury in Cancer squaring Mars in Aries. But then, Mercury will oppose Jupiter, Pluto, and Saturn in Capricorn, just as Mars begins to square it all for the first time.
July and August will be rough. Jarring. A lot happening, and fast.
So, I’m starting to see a scenario. I am not saying that all or any of it is absolutely going to happen. I’m not even saying that the planets are going to cause all of this to happen. Humans cause things. The planets just activate energy that is already there. There are always a variety of outcomes available to us with any aspect. Aside from the weather or anything natural, such as viruses or earthquakes, humans make things happen. Humans create the world we live in.
I also need to point out that the future is never set in stone. Time is fluid. Any of this could change at any time. A lot of my presumptions are based on what has happened so far. This ship can turn around any time we want.
Whole Lotta Good
Before I continue, I want to say that Mars in Aries can actually do a helluva lot of good in the world, and I do see much good happening in 2020. I see people fighting for what they believe in. I see people not giving up on what is constructive, righteous, and just for humanity. All of the changes we are about to go through are necessary. The cans have been kicked down the road long enough. We are ready for this.
Mars in Aries will give us the spirit to accomplish our goals. We will see what we want, we will see what needs to be done, and we will do it. Fear won’t be the biggest concern. No matter what happens, please remember that this process is ultimately for the greater good.
What I See
Alright, so it is now June 25, 2020. The virus in America is on the rise. I see this growing and spreading. I see it spreading beyond where we know it is right now. I see people angry because they do not want to wear masks. I see people fighting each other because some do not believe the virus is real or as dangerous as people are saying. These people will likely cause a lot of disruption, to put it mildly. They’re defiant and angry. I see some states needing to close down again because hospitals are overrun. Remember the people protesting the lockdown with guns? I see more of that. Congress would do well to pass longer unemployment assistance. If they don’t, there will be mayhem eventually. There needs to be a better plan, however.
Some astrologers, whom I respect, have mentioned the virus mutating and becoming stronger before our immune systems have the chance to fully catch up. People not privy to astrology have already sounded the alarm on this. This is definitely a possibility. Mars in Aries is a TON of energy. Forming a square to Pluto, I can see this happening. Especially when Mars at 22 Aries squares Pluto at 22 Capricorn in the second week of October 2020. Mars will be retrograde at that time, but 22 Capricorn is the same degree of the infamous Saturn Pluto conjunction earlier this year. The Sun would also be in Libra at that time, also squaring 22 Capricorn. That’s the same week that Jupiter sextiles Neptune (easy viral spread), Mercury stations retrograde at 11 Scorpio, and the Libra New Moon happens. Jupiter, Saturn, & Pluto are also super close together. That week is very active.
As for race relations, there will likely be another spark that sets off more fervent protests. There will probably be a number of sparks. This is not going away any time soon. I see people continuing to challenge the police and I see this escalating in certain areas.
This news just came out and I am keeping a super close eye on it.
I am concerned that some police officers may revolt in some way, especially after getting fired. I see a battle between individual will and the government. If the protests turn into riots again, I see the National Guard stepping in. This could be disastrous.
I see the presidential election as chaotic at best. Because transit Neptune is activating Trump’s Sun/Moon opposition, I see his state of mind deteriorating. He’s falling behind in the polls and that is one of the most important things to him. Desperation is ugly. Conspiracy theories and accusations will continue to rise, causing more confusion, mistrust, and further division. It will be hard for some people to know who to trust. Others will clearly know. I think Fox News as it is right now may be on the way out. It might not be this year but it will happen. Misinformation can only go on for so long before people realize how truly dangerous it is. No matter what the outcome of the election is, people will be angry and there will likely be a lot of disruption. I’m putting that nicely. For some reason, I see the election possibly being postponed or contested and delayed. The government will be challenged in some way. There could be an acting president for a time. I see a prominent woman.
I do not see Trump or Biden as president. If one of them does become president, I do not see a full term. Both are fairly “mature” and they have major, major transits coming up. Honestly, there could be a crisis of some sort with Joe in December or January. I think he’ll be alright in the end but I am not sure if he will be able to finish out the presidency if elected. As for Trump, I’m surprised he’s gotten as far along in his first term as he has. Pluto will be opposing his Venus/Saturn conjunction later this year and it will last 2-3 years. That’s like the Tower card in the Tarot. Game over.
I see something else happening, something perhaps beyond our control and out of the blue. A natural disaster of some sort? Wouldn’t that be fun? I’m not sure it’s just a hurricane, either.
All of this is my opinion given what’s already happened so far this year. I am using astrology, intuition, and probabilities. Why do I think shit is going to completely hit the fan? Because the aspects coming at us are powerful AF. The eclipses have been remarkable. What are the chances these types of major aspects and eclipses are all coming together around the same time? This is once-in-a-lifetime shit. Astrologers everywhere know that the second half of 2020 is the more difficult half, and look at everything we’ve already been through so far. That was the easy part? Really? This is why I think the rest of the year is just going to be merciless. I hope I’m wrong.
FYI – I do not make such predictions in any readings I do for people. This is a blog of my thoughts. Also, it’s not the end of the world. Yes, it’s a crazy year but please do not panic. Cover your bases.
To be honest, I would love to be wrong. I hope to read this next year and laugh because of how paranoid and dramatic I was. I’ll be the first to make fun of myself after I’m done laughing.
Something to keep in mind…
It is based on what has already happened this year that I am even thinking about the above scenarios. Say we were having a great year on Earth where everyone was getting along and Mercury was going to square Mars in Aries for three weeks. I would probably assume there’d be an accident of some sort or a spirited debate. Or, maybe there’s a big sports game and something extraordinary happens. Makes more sense, right? Unfortunately, too many in my country are angry. Unfortunately, many are filled with hatred. Unfortunately, we already have issues with violence, particularly gun violence. Unfortunately, there’s a virus out there that hasn’t gotten under control yet.
Unfortunately, everything is political in my country and the divide takes my breath away. It’s not sustainable.
With astrology, your predictions can get better if you know your history. The future is nothing but the effects of the past. The direction is always up to us. If America could solve its problems tomorrow, Mars in Aries for six months would not worry me half as much. It’s because we no longer hear or see one another as children of the universe that I am concerned the situation will worsen.
I pray everyone stays safe and remembers love. Fierce, perfect love.
I love your writing style. I’ve never found another astrology update go so in depth in “blog form”. It just enjoyable to read. Even about the potential second half of 2020. thank you for writing!
Thanks, I tend to ramble lol. Also, I’m trying to get to the bottom of things, too. I’m really happy you enjoy it and that you left a comment to say so. Thank you so much 🙂
