President Harris?

In this post, I discuss the birth chart of Kamala Harris and why I get the feeling she could one day be President of the United States.

Looking at the initial shape and tone

First of all, can we just appreciate that beautiful see-saw? It is literally almost perfect! See-saws show a lot of opposing energies that need to be balanced. There’s a lot energy and tension building here, a lot of activation. This is a person who has had to overcome many difficulties in life. And, more to come. She must consciously work through and balance these oppositions to quell some of the opposition coming from outside herself. Not an easy task.

President Nixon had a see-saw chart structure, not that he is anything like Kamala, but it goes to show how the world can work against you when you do not do the right thing. Nixon had Pluto in the 10th house, which was more to blame for his public disgrace (Harvey Weinstein had Pluto in the 10th, too), although I haven’t looked at his chart extensively enough to see what else was there. He let his paranoia and mistrust get the better of him.

As you can see, Kamala Harris was born on a near-exact Full Moon in Aries (opposing a Libra 5th house Sun). She’s got a deep need to express herself, particularly within groups of people, and to fight for social justice, equality and fairness, while being entertaining, with some dramatic flair thrown in. Kamala is an independent woman, for sure. She is loyal, confident, and takes quick, bold action.

Libra Sun is not the strongest, but the 5th house gives it dignity, and the Aries Moon just solidifies the boldness.

One thing I love to see, is a little bit of Scorpio with Libra. This gives some added depth to the Libran initiative. Bonding with others becomes a higher-stakes sort of “game.” It means more than what is shown. Kamala’s Mercury in Scorpio gives her superior insight, observational power, and the ability to focus and hone in on an issue. Kamala is a Libra, but with the ability to actually make a decision and follow through on that decision quickly. She is a decisive Libra and, in my humble opinion, that is powerful. I always thought Libra could be such a cataclysmic sign if it could only make up it’s damn mind! Well, here we go.

Also being in the 5th house, with added nuance in the 6th (speaking every day for work), Kamala entertains while she talks, without even trying. People are interested in what she has to say. She gives a lot of oomph when she’s at an event. It’s not that she draws attention to herself, it is that attention is drawn to her. She may be theatrical. The 5th house (and Scorpio) is quite adept at politics. I am already starting to think she was made for the public stage.

Let’s move on.

Major Uranus-Pluto conjunction of the 1960s with Venus

Her 4th house Venus in Virgo gives an added dimension to her. Kamala values her ancestry and her roots – she values where she came from. This also includes country! Kamala values her country and her country’s history. She loves her people, and her people are Americans. She also values practicality. She’s discriminating – she doesn’t rush for the first prize that flashes across the screen. She is choosy, picky! She also values intelligence and mental acuity. The mind/body connection, and the ability to learn from mistakes. These are wonderful, humbling qualities.

I would like to take this moment to discuss her Venus more in-depth. To do so, I need to bring up the Uranus-Pluto conjunction of 1964-1965. Let’s think about what this means. At the individual level, Uranus with Pluto takes one’s Supreme Willpower and jacks it up, ripping it off the path of conventional and “normal,” giving it Supreme Vision for the future.

But, wait! Like a QVC commercial, there’s more! Uranus and Pluto are generational planets. Them coming together like they did not only begins a new cycle for human consciousness, but it creates a powerful aspect that lives within a lot of people. Kamala having her Venus, a personal planet, with the Uranus-Pluto conjunction ties her directly into the Super-Conscious of her generation, and also of humankind.

Kamala values Uranus-Pluto. Kamala values transformational energy for the future. Let’s discuss that Uranus-Pluto conjunction of the mid-sixties and disseminate its many meanings. Often, when people look back at history and discuss what happened during such and such aspect, they’re missing out on a larger scope of what that energy-potential stood for. Sure, maybe not all of it manifested, and because humans are flawed and have been mostly unconscious for much of modern history, the same issues tend to crop up when the same planets aspect one another. So, although we can deduce a trend from a previous aspect or transit, that is by no means the only manifestation of that energy possible. There are still conscious people who are trying to make beneficial differences in the world.

Especially as we get into Generation X running the show and then my generation (Millennial, although I’m sort of in the middle of the two) we should hopefully start to see a world that is more conscious. Pluto in Scorpio does a damn good job at bringing the impacts of trauma to light, and thus working with them better. I believe the Pluto in Scorpio generation can stop much of the trauma cycle, healing ancestral trauma so that humans can move forward with greater and more purposeful consciousness. This will pave the way for Pluto in Sag.

Every generation should bring human consciousness further up the ladder, paving the way for the generations that follow.

That, however, is another conversation. So, back to Kamala, she values the energies that helped foster great change and push for social justice and social equity of the mid-60s, and she is a product of that. So, although that time was violent and there were a lot of power struggles, as well as the breakdown and shifting of collective vision for the future, it was a chaotic, but necessary time. Being as we are in 2020, facing chaos already, our structures and foundations further breaking down and shifting (Saturn-Pluto conjunction), I think we actually need some Uranus.

Which, we will get next year, big time. More on that in an upcoming post, which I will try to remember to link back here.

We need some Uranian people. We need bold, new, innovation.

Kamala is Uranian, responsibly

Kamala Harris values the transformational energy of future vision. Supreme Will meets Supreme Sight, and in Virgo, it’s discriminatory, practical, not frivolous. It wants something that works, that has a function. Transformative vision for all things Virgo: learning, health, healing, work, as in the day-to-day routines that make a system work. The nuts and bolts in the machine of a larger system. These are the kinds of people we need right now. Visionaries, problem-solvers. We have no time to waste.

Being a Libra Sun, Kamala’s Venus placement is extremely important. Her very life path and expression of her ego-consciousness, the desire to Be, to exist, is ruled by her values, and she values deep, transformative humanitarian progress. She values her Will and Vision. Being in the 4th house, and seeing her Moon in the 11th (what she cares about) and her Saturn in Aquarius on the MC (purpose for society), she is a true public servant. She feels a calling to rebuild society.

Saturn in Aquarius on the MC, is a deeply felt purpose for the collective, to help people, to push society forward, to be seen as responsible and fair, prudent and just.

In my opinion, looking solely at the astrology, Kamala embodies the energy of what is really needed right now to push society forward in a way that works for everyone.

This is long, so I will end on this note, but there will be a Part Two. Transits!
